The Gift of Groceries - New Hope

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

Our sister church, New Hope Community Church, distributes 20,000 lbs. of free food to approx. 300 families each week in South Sacramento through their Gift of Groceries (TGoG) ministry. TGoG has been granted a partnership with Raley’s.

New Hope currently has a membership of around 38 and a total attendance of about 75 needs help maintaining this massive effort to feed those in need in the Sacramento area. Since receiving USDA approval in February the number of recipients in our ministry has risen from 168 to 300 every week.

Volunteer opportunities:

  • Pick up groceries from Raley’s (Franklin Blvs & Elk Grove Blvd) Monday-Saturday mornings between 6am-10am. This includes between 2-4 shopping carts full of groceries to be loaded into a vehicle and transferred to New Hope Church
  • Thursday afternoon food distribution at New Hope, including setup and cleanup. Cleanup usually takes place around 3:30-4:30pm.
