Married to my fantastic wife Danielle since 2007. We have two kids, Jeremiah and Lucy.
I’ve been a LifePointe staff member since July 2017. Previously I was a Bible teacher at Bradshaw Christian High School.
I enjoy reading anything by Joshua Ryan Butler, but my favorite book right now is God Has a Name by John Mark Comer.
I played college basketball for 2 years at Hope International, but we were terrible and only won 4 games in two years. After that I worked for the Anaheim Ducks for a few years and am a huge Ducks fan now.
Graduated from Hope International University in 2008 with a B.A. in Youth Ministry.
2 Peter 1:3: “His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.”
FAVORITE TYPES OF MUSIC
I have a rather eclectic taste in music. I enjoy artists like Andy Mineo, Propaganda, and Lecrae while also really enjoying Crowder, John Mark McMillan, Kings Kaleidoscope, and All Sons & Daughters.
Background on LifePointe’s Partnerships with Stadia and Compassion International in Ecuador
LifePointe and our partner churches (Impact Church in South Sac and Family Life Church in Galt), teamed up with Stadia and Compassion International to plant a church in Chone, Ecuador in 2013. Our three churches raised the funds to purchase the land and construct the church building. Pastor Felix, with his wife Jacqueline, lead the church. In November 2013, Pastor Chris, Pastor Barry (Impact Church) and Pastor Rick (Family Life Church) collectively took a team down to Ecuador to participate in the new church planting.
Compassion International our three churches the opportunity to sponsor 200 children in Chone in 2013. LifePointe families now sponsor over 100 of those children. Sponsorships through CI will help pull the children of Chone, Ecuador out of poverty by providing them with an education (through our local church plant), providing food and clothing, working closely with the families firsthand and most importantly…SHARING JESUS WITH THEM.
News on the Ground in Chone, Ecuador on April 19
(translated from Spanish)
“Friends: we are in Chone, there are roads that can be taken to arrive here and it is safe to come. The need here is really urgent: the people are without electricity and will be for another week, there are approximately 119 houses that have collapsed, more than 1000 people without homes, and 178 with houses that are partially fallen. They are sleeping in the streets, they don’t have food or water and the hospital collapsed (I don’t know if he means destroyed or paralyzed with the amount of people). We need your help. It appears that we are the first to arrive to Chone and it looks like the city has been forgotten by everyone.”
HOW TO HELP – REPORT FROM STADIA
Friends of Stadia,
We want to keep you as updated as we can about the earthquake crisis in Ecuador. We’ve been told that sponsored children and staff are safe. However communication is slow, and it is a very vulnerable situation. Many homes of children have collapsed, water sources have been compromised, food sources interrupted, power lost, and so on. This makes for unstable conditions for our kids and churches.
What we know is that Compassion International will pull out all the stops to help care for sponsored children and partner churches.
If you know people who sponsor kids, please to let them know that Compassion will communicate with them about their sponsored child as they have information. And for those who aren’t sponsoring (or those who want to sponsor more), please encourage them to do so. Stadia has planted 38 churches in the most impacted areas of Ecuador. These church plants currently have more than 700 children in need who are registered and available for sponsorship. Many more people will be reached in this time of need as more are sponsored.
Donations are also needed. 100% of the funds raised toward our Ecuador relief efforts will go directly to Compassion to help with recovery. To meet all their needs, we have set a goal of $150K. Any amount from your church, organization or you personally is helpful.
